Surrender To God's Will
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
The word I choose for today is "Surrender". Not always an easy thing to do especially when dealing with the will of God. But through consistant devotion to Christ, transformation does indeed take place, and it starts in the heart. Many people have the mindset that our heavenly Father is a "controlling" God, but that is wrong thinking. God does not seek to control us, His desire is to protect us because He loves us so much.
In order for us to understand that, we must look to the Cross. Jesus surrendered to the will of Abba Father because He loves us, He drank from the cup handed to Him in order for us to walk in freedom from enslavement to sin. To surrender in totality to the will of God, we must first let go of the "I wants" and focus on God's will in our lives. He desires to protect us; but He gave each one of us free will, free will to choose for ourselves whom we will serve.
If we choose the ways of the world, we are stepping from underneath the umbrella of protection that He has provided for us through the sanctified Blood of Jesus and His Redemptive plan. But, if we choose to allow Him in so that He can mold [The Potter] and shape us [The Clay] into the person(s) that He desires for us to be, then Surrender will take it's rightful place within the sphere of our being, and echo from deep within the words that Jesus said in the Garden, "not as I will, but Thy will be done".
His works within us has already been established in Heaven, but it is through our surrender in walking in His ways that releases His will to manifest and come into fruition here on earth, within us. Be blessed.
